Acceptable Use Policy
Version of 25 August 2026.
The enveo.net domain is a shared resource: the reputation of every mailbox is set by the behaviour of all of them. A single bulk send from one mailbox can put the whole domain on blocklists, after which everyone else's mail stops arriving. That is why the rules below are stricter than ordinary good manners.
1. What a mailbox is for
The personal and business correspondence of an individual: mail to colleagues and friends, signing up on websites, receiving notifications and documents.
2. What is prohibited
- Bulk and marketing mail of any kind, including mail to your own subscriber list and cold outreach.
- Spam and mass sign-ups. Sending mail to people who did not ask for it; creating accounts on third-party services in bulk.
- Sender forgery. Mail sent under someone else's name, impersonating another organisation or person, phishing.
- Malicious content. Distributing viruses, trojans or links to compromised pages.
- Unlawful content. Material whose distribution is prohibited by applicable law; threats, harassment, child sexual abuse material.
- Reselling capacity. Using the mailbox as a relay, a gateway for someone else's traffic or part of a commercial mail infrastructure.
- Working around limits. Attempting to exceed sending limits, to create extra mailboxes outside the invitation flow, or to reach other people's mailboxes or the server.
3. Technical limits
- Sending is rate limited per hour, separately for each mailbox and for the domain as a whole.
- The mailbox is not an open SMTP relay: sending requires authentication.
- Automatic forwarding to external addresses is allowed as long as it creates no loops and does not turn the mailbox into a transit point for someone else's mail.
4. What happens after a violation
- A one-off and clearly accidental violation — a message to the owner asking them to stop.
- Repeated or deliberate — sending is suspended while receiving mail and access to the archive continue to work.
- Spam, phishing, malicious attachments or unlawful content — the mailbox is disabled immediately and without warning.
If a mailbox has put the domain on blocklists, sending is restored only after the domain has been delisted.
5. Reporting abuse
If you received unwanted mail from an address in the enveo.net domain, write to
abuse@enveo.net and include the full message headers — without
them the route cannot be traced. Reports are handled within three working days.
