Terms of Service

These terms describe on what basis Enveo Mail provides mailboxes in the enveo.net domain. By creating a mailbox you accept this document, the privacy policy and the acceptable use policy.

1. What this service is

Enveo Mail is a small private mail service. It runs on a dedicated server managed by Mailcow and is meant for the personal and business correspondence of individual people. It is not a public telecommunications operator and does not sell communication services.

The service is run by a private individual. Contact addresses are postmaster@enveo.net for questions about how the service works and abuse@enveo.net for abuse reports.

2. Who can get a mailbox

There is no open registration. A mailbox is created with a single-use invitation issued by the administrator. An invitation is valid until first use and must not be passed to third parties without the administrator's knowledge.

A mailbox is issued to a specific person. One mailbox, one owner: sharing access with other people, selling or renting a mailbox is not allowed.

3. Your account

  • You choose the mailbox address yourself from the available names. Role names such as postmaster, abuse and admin are not issued.
  • You set the password yourself and are responsible for keeping it safe. The service does not know your password: only its cryptographic hash is stored.
  • Actions performed with your password are treated as yours. If you suspect it has been compromised, write to postmaster@enveo.net and change it.
  • Two-factor authentication can be enabled in the mail server panel. If the second factor is lost, access is restored by the administrator manually.

4. Operating limits

  • Every mailbox has a disk quota. Once it is full, incoming mail is rejected until space is freed.
  • Outgoing mail is rate limited per hour, both per mailbox and for the domain as a whole. These limits protect the reputation of the domain and are not designed for bulk mail.
  • The service may change quotas and limits. Any change that reduces an already granted quota is announced to the mailbox owner in advance.

5. No warranty

The service is provided as is. It is free, runs on a single server and carries no service level agreement: there is no guarantee of availability, recovery time or message durability.

One point deserves to be stated plainly: off-site backups of mailboxes are not configured at the moment. Losing the server means losing the mail. If your correspondence matters, keep your own copy — for example, pull messages over IMAP into a local mail client.

6. Termination

You may give up your mailbox at any time by writing to postmaster@enveo.net.

The service may close a mailbox if:

  • the acceptable use policy is violated;
  • the mailbox is used for bulk mail or spam, or otherwise harms the reputation of the domain;
  • the mailbox has been unused for more than 12 consecutive months;
  • the service shuts down entirely.

A serious violation results in immediate suspension. In every other case — including the service shutting down and closure of an unused mailbox — the owner is notified at least 30 days in advance so that the mail can be retrieved.

7. Changes to these terms

These terms may change. A new version is published on this page with its date. Changes that affect the rights of mailbox owners are announced by mail to the mailbox itself at least 14 days before they take effect.
